While it’s true that you may only have limited discretion when it comes to certain business decisions, franchisees typically get to vote as equal members when it comes to big company decisions and major changes in operating procedure. Add to that the support that you have from other owners as well as business mentoring from your parent company. There is a lot of appeal to the idea of starting a home business franchise.
Fortunately there are literally hundreds of businesses from which to choose. When deciding which one to buy into, consider things such as: how much control will I have over my business? What are my franchise fees going toward? What types of business decisions will be put to a vote and what ones will be made by the parent company alone? Does the parent company have a good reputation in its market? How much business and technical support will I be receiving from the parent company?
It’s important for you to do some careful research first and make sure that you understand exactly what your role as an individual owner will be in relation to the parent company. When you do, you’ll likely be able to find a home business option that is not only workable, but stands an excellent chance of being successful too.
